Night Operations Division
The unit that doesn't exist, in the city that never sleeps. Her fictional world, mapped.
The Division
The Night Operations Division (NOD) is the fictional special-missions unit Military Ninja Fem serves in. In her world’s lore, the Division handles the operations that can’t be acknowledged: night infiltrations, quiet extractions, asset recoveries, and the kind of reconnaissance that never appears in any briefing.
The Division’s standing rule: if the sun sees it, it didn’t happen. Operations run between dusk and dawn. Paperwork is minimal, commendations are nonexistent, and the official position — in-fiction — is that the NOD is a logistics office.
Specter Cell
She doesn’t work alone. Her team is Specter Cell, a four-person unit:
- Specter-1 “Vesper” — Military Ninja Fem herself. Infiltration lead, mission commander.
- Specter-2 “Sable” — infiltration tech. Defeats locks, cameras, and sensors; talks to buildings the way Vesper talks to shadows.
- Specter-3 “Doc Hana” — field medic. Keeps the cell alive and patches the civilians the missions leave behind. Carries the second med-kit.
- Specter-4 “Rook” — overwatch marksman. The eyes above, the voice in the earpiece, the contingency nobody wants to need.
Cell doctrine mirrors her Code of Shadows: exfil planned first, civilians first, no one left behind. Full profiles on the Squad page.
Kurohane City
The fictional city they protect: a harbor metropolis of neon districts, old-town rooftops, container ports, and corporate towers. By day it’s commerce; by night it’s contested ground between the Division’s quiet work and the Crimson Lotus syndicate’s loud ambitions.
Key fictional locations:
- The Harbor District — container yards and dock warehouses; site of Operation Black Ember.
- Old Town rooftops — her preferred highway. The tile roofs and laundry lines of the old quarter are practically built for grapnel work.
- The Meridian Tower — corporate spire with the city’s best sightlines; Rook’s favorite overwatch.
- The Undermarket — the black-market bazaar in the storm drains, where information costs more than weapons.
The Division’s enemies
The NOD’s standing opposition in this fictional world:
- The Crimson Lotus syndicate — organized crime with corporate polish and no code at all.
- Ronin-9 — a rival operative: everything Vesper is, minus the tenets.
Details on the Adversaries page.
How the world stays fictional
A standing reminder, because it matters: the Division, the Cell, the city, the syndicate — all of it is fictional worldbuilding written for this character. There is no real unit, no real city, no real operation behind any of it. The one real thing here is the character’s name as it appeared in the Vizlings app — see Meet the Character.
