Fan Theories — Leyra Ashwind
Nobody knows. Everybody has opinions.
Everything below is fan speculation about a fictional world — not canon, not fact, just fun.
The Hollow is a wound, not a place
Some fans theorize the Hollow isn't geography but damage — a storm that was once commanded instead of asked, and broke. Evidence: Leyra said it was “lonely,” not empty. Counter: nobody has ever admitted to commanding a storm.
The High Road leads down, not up
The rumored current above the highest clouds might actually curve down past the cloud sea — to the Drowned Country. Wren's logbook sketch of the many-winged thing supports “something lives up there,” not “it's a road.”
Sefra is older than she looks
Silver hawks live decades; Sefra knew the Roost's wind-ledge before Leyra was born, some say. She chose Leyra, the theory goes, because she'd been waiting for a listener that strong.
Bram was a listener once
He reads weather Leyra hasn't mentioned yet, sometimes. Fans whisper he gave up the listening after going storm-deaf once — which is why he's so calm about Leyra's headaches.
The Drowned Country isn't drowned
The old songs could be wrong. Maybe below the clouds is just… land. Some fan wants Leyra's High Road expedition to find out. Most fans hope she never has to.
