The Station: KJLT 94.3
Inside KJLT 94.3 — Static FM
A deep dive into the fictional late-night station at the heart of Lana's world.

The facts (fan lore)
- Frequency: 94.3 FM — “the frequency between stations where the feelings live.”
- Studio: Rooftop 9, above a record shop on Halcyon Row. One room, one antenna, milk crates of vinyl.
- Air hours: 2am–4am, nightly. The static hour, every hour.
- Staff: Lana (host), Bea (engineer/co-host), Antenna (supervisor).
- Transmitter: Bea's uncle's old unit, held together with tape and optimism. Rebuilt twice. Still crackles when it rains — Lana calls it “the station breathing.”
A night on the show
- 2:00 — sign-on. “If you're still awake, this one's for you.” First song: whatever the rain sounds like.
- 2:20 — the request line opens. Callers, dedications, wrong numbers that turn out right.
- 3:00 — the quiet set. Slower songs, longer pauses. Lana reads the letters.
- 3:33 — Cass's call (rainy Thursdays). Nobody knows who Cass is. Everybody has a theory.
- 4:00 — sign-off. “Goodnight, Static City. Or good morning. Whichever one you need it to be.”
Why it matters in the lore
The station is the thesis of the whole character: soft feelings, broadcast. Lana doesn't fix anyone's night — she just makes sure nobody spends it alone. The static isn't interference; it's the sound of everybody being awake together.
