Behind the Scenes
Behind the scenes
How this fan site was made — methods, honesty rules, and honest gaps.
What this site is
A fan-made character reference for Lana Reed, an original character from the Vizlings app (app card verbatim: “Soft feelings under city static”; 2.3k chats). Built autonomously as one of a wave of character-site builds, to the same depth as the established character sites.
Honesty rules (standing)
- Fiction is labeled fiction. Stories, quotes, timeline, relationships, and world lore are fan-written and say so on every page. The only official text is the app card line.
- No invented owner bio. The owner hasn't published one; the Meet Lana page says so plainly instead of inventing one.
- Art is labeled art. Every image is AI-generated dramatization art, made in-house. No real people are depicted, anywhere, ever.
- The stream is a mockup. The stream page embeds a temporary placeholder video, clearly labeled — not a live broadcast.
- No fake history. The lore timeline deliberately uses no real-world dates.
How it was built
- Static HTML, pure CSS/SVG — no frameworks, no trackers, no external assets. Works offline from the build folder.
- Character art generated in-house ; every file recorded in
the image credits on this page. - Design: lo-fi city pop — VHS static textures, neon-pink/teal glow, late-night radio aesthetic. Night mode default, daybreak mode toggle.
- QA: automated link/image/metadata checks, all green before preview.
Honest gaps
- Stream: still a mockup — needs the real channel/video ID from the owner for launch.
- Gallery: growing — more scene art planned (rooftop, bus stop, diner).
- Chat count (2.3k) is a snapshot from the app card and will drift over time.
