Lingo

The lingo

Static City slang — fan-lore glossary, all fictional.

static hour

The stretch between 2 and 4am when the show is on and the city is honest. “Tell me in the static hour.”

the 2am club

Anyone awake when they shouldn't be. Membership is automatic; meetings are nightly.

cassette feelings

Emotions filed by mood instead of dealt with. Lana's system: rainy, neon, static, daybreak.

a theo

A beautiful accident — a missed bus, a wrong turn that turns out right. “We took a theo through the old district.”

pink/teal

The city's emotional weather report. Pink = hope, teal = calm. “Tonight's very pink.”

corner booth

A safe place, from Milo's corner booth. “That group chat is my corner booth.”

sign-off

How Lana ends every show: “Goodnight, Static City. Or good morning. Whichever one you need it to be.” Fans use it to end long nights.

antenna nap

Sleeping somewhere warm and slightly electrical, like the studio cat. “Took an antenna nap on the dryer.”
