Methodology

The rules this site was built under — stated plainly so you can hold it to them.

The subject is a living person

Gordon Ramsay is alive, working, and famous. This site therefore follows strict real-person rules:

  1. Neutral, respectful, encyclopedic tone throughout. No mockery, no invented anecdotes, no partisan or sensational framing.
  2. No AI-generated depictions of Ramsay or any real person. Generated imagery is limited to abstract or conceptual art — kitchen scenes with no visible face, still lifes — and is always labeled “AI-generated dramatization art.”
  3. See the image captions for credits and context. Illustrated character art is a dramatization.
  4. Quotations are verbatim and cited, or honestly flagged as reported. His on-screen persona involves strong language: confirmed wording is quoted accurately with its source or omitted — never sanitized-and-presented-as-quote.

The naming note

Dates and certainty

Dates on the timeline are given as documented. Approximate dates carry “c.”; disputed or reported details are attributed inline (“widely reported”, “as reported”). The site does not present estimates as facts.

Quotations

The quotes page uses a two-tier system: Verbatim (confirmed against an identified primary source) and Reported (widely reported in the wording given, primary source not confirmed by this site). Nothing is invented; the “idiot sandwich” meme is explicitly identified as a comedy sketch gag, not a Ramsay quotation.

Corrections

If a fact on this site is wrong, the fix is to correct it with a cited source — not to soften it. The source register is on the sources page.
