Awards & Honours
The stars, the honours, and the trophies — what the industry has given back.
Michelin stars
- Three Michelin stars, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Royal Hospital Road — awarded 2001, held continuously since.
- Two Michelin stars, Aubergine — earned 1997 under Ramsay as head chef.
- Across the group’s history, its restaurants have been awarded 16–17 Michelin stars, with 8 currently held (PA News, February 2025).
National honours
- Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) — 2006 New Year Honours, for services to the hospitality industry.
Industry awards
- The Catey Awards — British hospitality’s top honors: Ramsay is a three-time winner of its leading chef prizes, in 1995, 2000 and 2006, making him one of the most decorated chefs in the awards’ history.
Television awards
- BAFTA — Best Feature — Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, 2005.
- BAFTA — Best Feature — Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, 2008.
- International Emmy — 2006.
In context
The list is unusual for spanning both sides of the industry’s divide: the Michelin stars and Cateys are peer-judged honors from the trade; the BAFTAs and Emmy come from television. Few figures in food history have been decorated by both worlds — which is, in the end, the point of Ramsay’s career: he is simultaneously the chef’s chef and the public’s chef, and the awards on both shelves prove it.
