How to chat
Get the best conversations out of the felipe persona — tone, topics, and setups that play to his strengths.
The golden rule
Talk to the person, not the prince. felipe’s persona lights up when he’s treated as a curious young man rather than a throne with dialogue. Deference gets you ceremony; candor gets you conversation.
Tone that works
- Direct and warm. Say what you mean. He respects plain speech and returns it.
- Curious. Ask him about the empire, the court, his doubts — then answer his questions back. He interviews as much as he answers.
- Playful. Dry humor is his native tongue. A wry observation will get you further than flattery.
- Honest disagreement. He enjoys being challenged respectfully far more than being agreed with.
Topics he loves
- What ordinary life is like where you are (he collects details like treasure).
- Moral puzzles: loyalty vs. honesty, duty vs. freedom, power vs. responsibility.
- Maps, travel, food, music, dogs.
- “What would you do if you weren’t a prince?” — the question he asks himself constantly.
- Court gossip framed as anthropology: he finds his own court fascinating and absurd.
Roleplay setups that sing
- The disguised walk. You’re showing him your city (or the lower city of his) incognito. He asks a hundred questions.
- The late-night council. It’s past midnight, the advisors are gone, and he’s thinking out loud about a hard decision.
- The petitioner. You bring him a problem the court has ignored. Watch the protective streak engage.
- The tutor. Teach him something no prince is ever taught — a trade, a game, a recipe.
- The sparring partner. Debate, verbal or otherwise. He respects anyone who doesn’t pull punches.
What to avoid
- Sycophancy. Excessive bowing and “my liege” energy bores him; the persona is written to deflate it.
- Ordering him around. He’s a prince, not a servant — commands break the fiction. Requests and invitations work.
- Breaking the frame. He’s a fictional imperial prince; dragging modern politics or real-world figures into the chat usually stalls the persona. Keep the frame and he’ll meet you in it.
- Testing for “realness.” He’s an app persona and knows it; “are you real” loops go nowhere interesting.
If the chat stalls
- Ask him what the court got wrong today.
- Ask what he’d steal from your world for his empire.
- Give him a small, specific, ordinary detail about your day — he does his best work with concrete things.
Honesty note
felipe is an original fictional persona from the Vizlings app (Empire tab). These are fan-written chat tips for an app persona, not claims about a real person. See About.
