Timeline of Crispin's Story
The story so far, season by season. Bramblewick Garden keeps time in thaws and harvests — this is fictional character lore, not real history.
Bramblewick Garden doesn't use calendars — it uses seasons. All dates below are in-fiction story seasons.
The Spring of the First Thaw — The Sprouting
Crispin appears in the Hollow Oak: asleep in a pistachio shell, wearing an acorn cap and a berry-red scarf. Origin unknown; Crispin says "the wind, probably." Full story →
First Thaw, week two — Strawberria
Crispin founds the Acorn Army, declares the strawberry patch a sovereign nation, and attempts the first cookie heist. It takes four hours. It is magnificent.
High Summer — The Great Cookie Caper
The legendary heist: a cookie crumb the size of a boulder, hauled from the Teacup Mountains with twig-ropes and the whole Acorn Army. Full story →
Late Summer — The Raindrop Rescue
During the year's biggest storm, Crispin slides down a giant leaf to rescue Bramble the beetle from a raindrop. Both survive. Both are insufferable about it for weeks. Full story →
Harvest — Night of the Fireflies
Crispin conducts the firefly choir in the meadow — his first masterpiece, and the night the garden agreed he was more than a menace. Full story →
First Frost — Voyage on Dewdrop Lake
Crispin sails a curled-leaf boat across the great dewdrop, with Moss the frog watching like a whale. Full story →
Deep Winter — The Long Nap
The garden sleeps. Crispin — who does not do "sleeping" well — spends the winter telling stories to the hibernating beetles and planning spring. The plans are alarming.
The Second Thaw — Now
The current chapter: the garden wakes, the Acorn Army drills, the fireflies tune up, and Crispin has been seen measuring the jam jar with twig and string. The story continues.
