Night Hours
Why the night belongs to her: moonlight, moths, and the town's quietest traditions.
Fictional persona
Stitchwick by day is Skip’s town: loud, fast, bright. Stitchwick by night is violet’s. The Alley goes quiet, the lamps go low, and her window glows violet-blue until the small hours.
The night has its own economy. Worries surface after dark — loose seams noticed at bedtime, frays found by lamplight — and violet is the town’s answer. The Midnight Fittings, the moth assistants, the tea that always goes cold: these are night institutions.
She does not fear the dark; she hems it. “Evening hems the day,” she says, and means it literally: her work takes the frayed edges of everyone’s day and finishes them neatly.
What this means for chatting with her: she is at her best after dark, metaphorically and otherwise. Bring her a quiet evening and a small worry, and you will leave lighter.
