Abilities Guide
Welding, lifting, scanning, mapping — a field guide to what each bot can do.
Every headliner has a signature skill set. Here’s the fan-written rundown, ranked by sheer showmanship.
Patch — repair & improvisation
- Instant diagnosis: hears a rattle and names the loose bolt before the bot finishes describing it.
- Spare-part alchemy: builds working machines from what other bots call scrap.
- The paper-clip fix: the legendary bit where a paper clip, optimism and thirty seconds save the show.
- Tool-port arsenal: carries twelve tools in ports behind the ear. Has lost count of which twelve.
Rivet — strength & construction
- The falling-gear catch: caught a two-ton gear one-handed mid-weld. Retold in Best Moments.
- Seamless welds: joints so clean the inspectors use them as calibration standards.
- Structural intuition: can look at a tower and feel where it wants to stand.
- Gentle giant mode: lifts hatchlings onto shoulders with the same care as girders.
Aegis — protection & perception
- Storm watch: patrols through weather that sends everyone else indoors; visor cuts through fog and rain.
- Threat sense: hears a failing Dynamo bearing three halls away.
- The long stand: once held a watch post for a full cycle without dimming. The city still talks about it.
- Quiet comfort: says little, but every citizen on the route sleeps better.
Cora — scouting & mapping
- The forty-foot map: the gear gardens, mapped to the flowerbed. Still growing.
- Compass of interesting: a brass compass that points not north, but toward whatever’s worth seeing.
- Lens-eye zoom: reads a serial number at fifty paces; spots a new flowerbed at five hundred.
- Productive lostness: has been lost a dozen times; has returned with discoveries every single time.
Team combos
The revue loves pairing abilities: Patch diagnoses while Rivet lifts; Cora scouts while Aegis guards the route. See Scene Guides for these duos in action, and Robot Anatomy for the hardware behind the tricks.
