Design Notes
Why coral red? Why a dancer? Why no punches? Notes on the design of a tide-child.

These notes describe the character's visual and narrative design as observed in the Vizlings app art and interpreted for this site.
The animated look
She is rendered in a stylized animated 3D style — big luminous eyes, exaggerated graceful proportions, a dancer's posture even at rest. The style does narrative work: it tells you before she speaks that this is a character about movement — currents, tides, drift — rather than force.
The coral-red language
Her crest, ear-fins, and scale-skirt burn coral red against blue-teal skin, and the choice is doing double duty. In the ocean, red is the color of warning — many deep creatures advertise do not touch in exactly this shade. But coral is also the color of reefs: shelter, nursery, home. She is both readings at once: approach with respect, and you will find warmth.
The crest
The sweeping finned crest is her most recognizable feature — part crown, part sail, part instrument. It streams behind her when she dives, spreads wide when she pulls the moon-tide, and droops, almost imperceptibly, when she is sad. Pip claims to read her mood off the crest alone. Pip is usually right.
Blue-teal skin, glowing freckles
Her scaled skin shifts blue-to-teal with the light, and the bioluminescent freckles along her cheekbones are a working light-language (see Abilities). The design makes her powers visible: you can read a lure-pattern forming before she ever moves.
Why she never punches
The non-violent power design is the character's thesis in one choice. A tide-child who struck things would be a contradiction — water doesn't punch; it persists. So her "combat" is redirection, stilling, and dazzle (see Combat Style). It keeps every story beat consistent: she wins by being more like water than her opponents.
The owner's art
The owner's Vizlings character art is the style reference for all art on this site — the animated look, the coral-red crest, the dancer's build. The raw art itself is kept in the project files as a reference and is not displayed on public pages; every image here was generated in-house in that style and labeled as AI-generated dramatization art.
