The five festivals

The Blossom Parade (Sproutime)

Floats made entirely of blossoms roll from Soda Fountain Square through every district. Children plant their First Seed seedlings along the route. The prettiest float wins nothing but glory, which turns out to be enough.

The Rind Games (Sunseason)

Fruitopia's beloved sporting carnival: seed-spitting (the marquee event), the melon relay, rind-diving at Citrus Docks, and the legendary pie-eating invitational. Champions are crowned with vine wreaths and free lemonade for a year.

The Strawberry Moon Sock-Hop (Sunseason)

One night when the Strawberry Star burns brightest, the valley dances — sock-hop style, on a floor rolled out under the open sky. The headliner is chosen by popular acclaim, and the last dance always ends at moonrise.

The Melon Harvest Festival (Harvestime)

The biggest harvest fair in the valley: prize melons weighed on the Great Scale, the harvest parade, and a feast that runs the length of Bellamy Boulevard. The heaviest melon of the year gets its own carriage.

Frostnap Lantern Night (Frostnap)

When the first frost silvers the Wall, every household hangs a lantern. The valley glows, the storytellers come out, and the Keeper's Lantern is carried the full circuit of the hedge — a walk that takes all night and is worth every step.
