Scene Guides: Dax's Greatest Hits
The moments fans replay — each with the setup, the beat-by-beat, and why it matters.

1. The First Great Picnic (Harvestime, Year 409)
Setup: Rain threatens the Vale's harvest feast. Dax, then just a popular picnic enthusiast, refuses to cancel.
Beat by beat: Dax moves the entire feast — blankets, baskets, three hundred guests — into the old striped barn in under an hour. Marlow rigs lanterns from the rafters. Georgia's pies arrive by wheelbarrow convoy. Dax climbs a hay bale and declares: "Nobody picnics alone on my watch."
Why it matters: The moment Dax went from host to legend. The Great Picnic has run every Harvestime since.
2. The Seed-Spit Heard Round the Vale (Sunseason, Year 412)
Setup: Rind Games finals. Dax trails the Citrus Docks champion by a whisper.

Beat by beat: Final round, last seed. The stadium goes silent. Dax winks at the crowd, takes his stance — and launches a spit so clean the judges need a second measurement. New valley record, by a full melon-length.
Why it matters: His third championship, his retirement from competition, and the record no sprout has touched since.
3. Frostnap Rescue (Frostnap, Year 414)
Setup: A surprise blizzard strands the Lantern Night parade halfway around the Wall.
Beat by beat: Dax commandeers every thermos in Sunshine Vale, fills them with Georgia's emergency cocoa, and leads a blanket-brigade through the snow to meet the frozen paraders. Nobody misses Lantern Night; everybody gets cocoa.
Why it matters: Proof the picnic champion is a winter hero too. The "Cocoa Brigade" now trains every Frostnap.
4. The Moonlight Duet (Sunseason, Year 415)
Setup: The Strawberry Moon Sock-Hop needs a finale. Ruby Bellamy needs a partner brave enough to share her stage.
Beat by beat: Dax — who dances like a happy landslide — takes Ruby's hand for a picnic-meets-sock-hop number that brings the house down. The moon rises mid-song. The valley still talks about it.
Why it matters: The Dax-and-Ruby friendship, at full wattage. The duet is now the traditional Sock-Hop closer.
