A note on fiction: Cassia Gold is an original fictional character from the Vizlings app. Everything on this page — her stories, sayings, timeline, companions, and world — is fictional lore written for the character, not real-world history or fact.
Beasts & Wonders
What Cassia has met out there — a fictional bestiary from her field journals.
River-serpents of the Verdant Expanse
Twenty feet of muscle and bad attitude in the jungle rivers. Cassia’s official field note: “Just big logs with opinions.” The crew’s note: she rowed very fast.
Dune-striders
Long-legged herd beasts that cross the Sunscarred Dunes at a pace caravans can’t match. Cassia once rode with a strider caravan for eleven days and still talks about the sunrise on the eighth.
Whisper-moths
Pale moths that gather wherever whisperstone is buried — which makes them better dowsers than half the Society’s instruments. Their wings sound like distant voices; hence the name, and hence three ghost stories.
Frost wisps
Lights that dance over Frostreach glaciers on clear nights. The old charts call them spirits. Sister Ilya calls them ice-gas. Cassia calls them “pretty” and sketches them for an hour.
The tortoise
One (1) tortoise, sketched at length in Volume 17 because it sat still and “had a good profile.” The crew voted it an honorary member. It declined.
