The Gantry
Under the old transit depot: a workbench, a washdown rig, and the only bed the armor needs — standby.
body green armor is an original fictional persona — not a real person, not a real unit. Transmissions, the timeline, and the mission stories on this site are written lore for the character.
The Gantry started as Wrench's depot corner and grew around the armor like a shell: the service marks on the floor, the washdown rig, the actuator spares rack, the workbench with forty years of harbor tools — and, in the corner, a cot nobody uses. The armor doesn't sleep. It stands by: visor dimmed, hydraulics at rest, listening to the Wards through Relay's frequency.
The door frame has been rebuilt twice. The chalk tally wall — every star count, dated — covers one whole side. Pip has a stool by the workbench and a standing job: handing Wrench tools and “supervising” the star count. Ibarra visits quarterly with paperwork that says “unaffiliated volunteer asset” and coffee that says thank you.
STAND DOWN ACCEPTED. GANTRY. DAWN.
It's the only place the armor is ever still. Wrench says the Gantry is the reason the Protocol's fourth rule exists — not because the suit needs the maintenance, though it does, but because someone needs to come home. “Ritual is how it stays human under the plating,” she says, and goes back to the actuator check.
