The Green Line
Canal road, underpass, pier, nursery block, floodline. Same order. Same pace. Every night.
body green armor is an original fictional persona — not a real person, not a real unit. Transmissions, the timeline, and the mission stories on this site are written lore for the character.
The Green Line isn't on any city map. It's the armor's route, walked nightly for three years: out of the Gantry at dusk, canal road first (check the water level), the underpass (wade the floodline), the pier (stand the night watch while the Wards sleep), the nursery block (slow past the windows — the kids leave drawings), and back along the floodline to the Gantry by dawn.
Dispatchers plan around it. “Armor's on the pier leg” means a canal-road ping gets a seven-minute response; “armor's on the floodline” means four. Relay has the whole circuit timed to the minute, and the Wards have learned the rhythm: doors unlatched on the nursery block, thermoses left on the canal-road bollards, chalk fresh in Pip's pocket.
QUIET NIGHT. PATROL CONTINUES.
Wrench once suggested varying the route — “unpredictability is tactical.” The armor's response, all four words: “Wards sleep better. Same.” The route hasn't changed since. Some nights Pip walks the nursery-block leg alongside, small hand on the big green gauntlet, and the most feared thing in the Flood Wards slows to a child's pace without being asked.
