Delivery Routes

Every route is a bargain with the dust. These are the runs Mia walks, the ones she won't, and the one nobody has finished.

Fictional setting

The regular runs

The Ferry Mile

Embankment road along the dead waterfront. Fast, flat, exposed — Dustjackals watch it, but the sightlines cut both ways. Mia’s bread-and-butter run.

The Ashline crossing

Grey belt, whiteout risk, no landmarks. Forty crossings and counting. Couriers navigate by rubble-shape and wind; Mia does it by memory.

Drowned Boulevard

Sunken avenue, plank-and-rope work, black water. Slow, careful, quiet. The parcels that cross here are usually medicine.

The Cinder Steps

Terraced climb past Lampwright signal lanterns. Brutal on the legs, safe from ambush — nobody ambushes uphill.

The Salt Flats relay

Dead harbor bed. The fastest open ground in the Ruins and the most exposed. Run at flare-night or not at all.

The Rooftop Wire

Not a route but a layer: linked rooftops and cable spans above the streets, run by the Wire Choir. Mia uses it when the streets are watched. She doesn’t like heights. She uses it anyway.

The run nobody has finished

The Deep Ferry — a rumored route under the drowned districts, through service tunnels that predate the Fall. Three couriers tried. The Relay doesn’t list it. Mia keeps a folded sketch of a tunnel mouth in her map case. See What’s Missing and Fan Lore — the sketch is real in-world; what it leads to is speculation.
