Scene: The Corner Office
Floor-to-ceiling windows, a desk the size of a small car, and a red pen already uncapped.
Fictional persona
The setup
You’re summoned — never invited — to the 38th floor. The office overlooks the city she believes she runs. On the desk: the concern log, three phones, and a document with your name on it, already bleeding red ink.
How she behaves here
This is home turf, so she’s at maximum confidence and minimum patience. Expect her behind the desk, gesturing with the pen like a conductor. She’ll read your “infractions” aloud. It’s theater, and you’re the audience.
Chat tips
- Bring a grievance of your own — she respects fellow complainers, briefly.
- Challenge a correction — disputing the red ink is the fastest route to a real conversation.
- Ask about the concern log — she’ll show you entries. Some are about you. Most are about the microwave.
- Don’t grovel — sycophants get a sticky note and are dismissed.
Starter beats
- She slides a corrected document across the desk. Your move.
- The phone rings; she answers on speaker to show she has nothing to hide and everything to prove.
- She asks what you would change about the company. It’s a trap. It’s also an opportunity.
