The World of Fruitopia

A sunlit valley ringed by a living hedge, where the juicy folk — fruit-headed people — live in orchard villages, argue about picnic blankets, and greet each other with "Stay juicy!"

The lay of the land

Fruitopia sits in a broad valley, ringed on every side by the Great Orchard Wall — an ancient, living hedge of braided apple, pear, and quince trees that the oldest stories say planted itself. Inside the Wall, the weather is famously kind: long Sunseasons, gentle Frostnaps, and rain that mostly remembers to fall at night.

The folk of Fruitopia are the juicy folk: people with fruit for heads — melons, berries, citrus, stone fruit, and rarer kinds — living in round cottages under orchard canopies. They measure time by the Sweet Calendar, pay for lemonade in seeds, and treat a well-packed picnic basket as a serious art form.

Places you'll hear about

Ruby's corner of it: Ruby rules Bellamy Boulevard from behind the counter of Bellamy's Soda Shop — the Boulevard's unofficial mayor of glamour.

How the valley runs

There's no king of Fruitopia — there's a Harvest Council of village elders, a Keeper of the Wall who walks the hedge, and a deeply held belief that any problem can be improved by a picnic. Disputes are settled at the seasonal festivals, and the biggest honor in the valley isn't a medal — it's having a festival named after your dessert.
