ManifestoThe Ambition Code
Seven principles from his fictional lore — written on a Dawnside rooftop at the end of Season One, and never edited since.
The Code is part of the character's fictional world — flavor for the character, not life advice. Read it as story.
The seven
- Walk anything under forty blocks. The city is the meeting.
- Dawn belongs to the disciplined. Be awake before the opportunity is.
- Every block is a page. Write it down or it didn't happen.
- Ambition includes people. Rise, and bring the street with you.
- Lose the deal before you lose the friend. Character compounds.
- Climb stairs. Elevators are for packages.
- The view is only worth it if you can still see the ground. Altitude with roots.
How it's used in-story
The Code is quoted back at him constantly — by Pace when he overworks, by Deacon when he gets proud, by the Saturday kids when he gets preachy. A code the character can't always keep is better story than one he can.
The practical companion is The Playbook; the short version is Sayings.
