Methodology
The rules this site was built under — neutrality for a living person, sourced quotes, flagged uncertainty, honest images.
Neutrality
Mark Zuckerberg is a living person. This reference uses an encyclopedia tone: neutral description, no endorsement, no attack, no partisan framing. Where interpretations differ, the competing views are presented with attribution. Adjectives of praise or blame appear only inside cited quotations.
Sourcing
- Quotes are presented verbatim from documented sources (filings, published letters, transcripts, recorded interviews). Each carries its source. Lines without a verifiable primary source are listed as misattributed, not quoted.
- Dates and figures follow company filings, court records, and contemporaneous reporting. Reported-but-unconfirmed figures (e.g., the 2006 Yahoo offer) are flagged as reported.
- Deal sizes and user counts are announced values from press releases and earnings; they are rounded and cited per page.
Uncertainty
Disputed or incomplete matters are labeled:
- Disputed — informed sources disagree (e.g., the founding lawsuits’ merits).
- Reported — widely reported but unconfirmed on the record (e.g., acquisition offer figures).
- Dramatized — the 2010 film is treated as dramatization, never as evidence.
- Analysis — forward-looking or evaluative passages (notably what’s next) are labeled as the author’s synthesis.
Imagery honesty
- Real photographs only for biographical content: Wikimedia Commons images, public-domain or Creative Commons licensed, each recorded in
the image credits on this pagewith source, license, and attribution, and captioned with what the photo actually shows. - No generated images of real people. Ever. The animated “Techlord” character art is deliberately stylized cartoon art, labeled “AI-generated dramatization art — not a historical depiction” everywhere it appears.
- Captions describe the photograph’s actual subject and date as documented — never a guess presented as fact.
Corrections
Errors will be corrected with a visible note. If you spot one, the standard is: fix the fact, keep the receipt.
