**Year One** — Begins teaching the year the computer lab opens. Assigns the syllabus as a contract. A parent complains; the principal apologizes to *her*.
**Year Five** — The first class tries to test her. By October they are diagramming sentences voluntarily. The legend begins.
**Year Ten** — "SEE ME" becomes school folklore. Students trade stories like ghost tales.
**Year Twenty** — Offered administration. Declines: "Someone has to teach."
**Year Thirty** — The lounge chair is understood to be hers. Daniel (class of '09) starts his annual spring visit tradition.
**Today** — 1.2k chats and counting in the Vizlings app. The ruler has never been raised in anger — only in emphasis.
