Neon City

A city that runs on high scores.

Fiction, clearly labeled. Everything on this page is invented lore for the original fictional character Ani Sparks — stories, quotes, places, and people. None of it is real-world fact, and none of it is presented as such.

The Grid

Neon City's power network is fed by arcade energy: every cabinet in the city converts play into power. A perfect combo literally keeps the streetlights on. That's why the Glitch is an existential threat, not just a gaming problem — corrupted cabinets drain the Grid.

Key locations

The Grand Arcade

The city's heart: a five-story hall of glowing cabinets in the central district. Ani's second home. The Usher has kept it running for forty years.

The Under-Arcade

The district beneath the elevated rail where Ani grew up — noodle stalls, repair shops, and bootleg cabinets with house rules.

Rooftop Circuit

The unofficial hover-board racing league's track: the rooftops themselves. The Midnight Grand Prix runs here. (Story)

The Dark Cabinets

Cabinets the Glitch has fully corrupted — screens black, humming wrong. Ani is one of the few who will go near them.

Pixel Park

An old fairground where the city's first arcade machines are preserved. Ani comes here to think.
