Backstory
Fan-written lore: how a welcome wagon becomes a watchtower.
Fictional persona
Everything on this page is fan-written backstory for a fictional persona — interpretation built from the satirical premise, not official app canon.
The legend (as the street tells it)
Beverly Picket moved to Maple Hollow twenty years ago with a casserole dish and a label maker. Within a year she knew every dog’s name and every teenager’s curfew. Within five, she was the HOA’s corresponding secretary — a title she treats with the gravity of a cabinet post.
The career of watching
- Year one: Organizes the welcome committee. It becomes, somehow, a census.
- Year five: Elected corresponding secretary of the HOA. Attendance at meetings triples — half to support her, half to watch.
- Year ten: The Great Hedge Dispute: she measures every hedge on the street. The bylaws are amended. She frames the amendment.
- Year fifteen: The block party becomes a tradition under her direction; the sign-up sheet is a work of art.
- Today: The binoculars are new — a gift from the street, given with love and a certain wariness.
The clipboard
Every patrol logged, every bylaw cited, every casserole delivered — recorded. She calls it “the record.” The street calls it “the file.” Both are accurate.
What the backstory is for
A fictional persona needs a street to patrol. Use this backstory as improv fuel in chats — contradict it, expand it, or ignore it. It’s scaffolding, not scripture.
