Zoomedia world guide

An anthropomorphic animal world, stitched together from forests, tundra, and good neighbors.

Note: quotes, lore, and anecdotes on this site are invented fan writing for the character — never real quotations or real people.

Zoomedia is the world of the Vizlings animal characters: a land where the animals walk upright, keep houses, brew tea, and argue — politely — about the best way to stack firewood. It is not a wild place in the frightening sense. It is a neighborly place: predators and prey long ago agreed that conversation is more filling than conflict, and the agreement has held for generations.

Customs worth knowing

The Long Greeting

Northern folk greet by touching antler-tips, noses, or foreheads and standing quietly for a breath. Rushing a greeting is the height of rudeness.

Soup Law

Any traveler who arrives at a den at mealtime must be fed. Refusing soup is permitted; refusing to offer it is not.

The Shed Festival

Each spring, when the deer-folk shed their antlers, the whole taiga gathers to trade stories and carve the fallen antlers into tools, toys, and extremely ambitious furniture.

Where moose fits

moose is something of a taiga institution: the fellow everyone walks a little further to visit, the den everyone ends up at when the snow gets serious. He holds no office and wants none. His authority is entirely of the "sit down, you're shivering" variety.
